Default Resumes for Newbies

Was looking at the APC resume how to s'. How can I emphasize my skills as a new commercial pilot (soon to be)? Especialy for aircraft flown; C-152, -172, -172RG. Any other hints for a new commercial pilot, soon to be?

From what i've heard, and i'm not a specialist at all, is that it they wouldn't want to see all the aircrafts that you've flown, but if the time is really quality like turbine, then i've heard that they'll just ask. But from what other pilots have told me, its better to just leave out all the planes you've flown. And when you list your ratings, if you have a type rating it will show on your resume. hopefully this helps... i think i confused myself! LOL

As a newly minted commercial pilot, it's assumed that you don't have a lot of experience flying. The trick then is to focus more on your outside of aviation experience that you can bring to the table. Focus on things that show good qualities and traits that might carry over into a flying job.

Judgement, management experience, character and responsibility are all good things to focus on. If you have other aviation experience (such as working the line or as an airline customer service agent), be sure to list that.

On my resume I keep both a "related experience" and "other employment" section. Under related experience all of my aviation jobs. Other emplyment has military service (non-flying), and two other management positions.

If you want, I'm happy to look over your resume and offer suggestions on what to include and what not to include. PM me and I'll send my email address.

I am a new Commercial Pilot myself...I created a resume, but I don't have space for other experience...it's filled with aviation courses and flight experience...I sort of include other stuff about me on the cover letter. Maybe you could try that...or you may have a better idea...I am open to any suggestions as well.
