Janet hiring

One of those tabloid tv programs tried to get in to their terminal. Of course, the parking lot and terminal are under fence and gaurd lockdown. They couldn't get in. So what do they try? They try to FOLLOW SOMEBODY HOME! They knock on the door to ask them how work is! I'm thinking that's probably not a great idea, and one that went to the rookie of the staff. As you might expect, they were asked to leave. I'm surprised they weren't greeted with a gun barrel as the door openend. It was hilarious to watch.

Eg&g
I have two friends flying for them, and I am tempted to join as well. They really like it.
Hard to get hired. Guys who leave are generally very old--guys aren't using it as a stepping-stone to SWA.
You need to have a Top Secret, current better, or previously held.
Very different op. Not under any FAR such as 121, 135, etc. No OpsSPecs (???). However, not governed under Air Force rules, either. Kind of.....in-between. Almost seems Part 91. (Even age-60 or 65 don't apply).
Pretty good working schedule and home every night. Pay is comparable to Majors, although starting pay much better. Just have to live in Vegas. Going to see the same short trips for the rest of your career. Don't need prior 737 time nor type-rating. Training done at UAL in DEN. No jumpseating agreements, though.

4000 hrs. of flying time, a B-737 Type Rating, and an active TS/SSBI security clearance

When they carry the Aliens from Area 51 around on holiday, what kind of TSA/security measures must be taken? Do the Aliens have to take of their shoes and walk through the detector? (I assume the Aliens get a vacation - getting poked and anal probed all year should allow you a break)

Security Clearance
You basically need to have been at a job that already gave you one. This means 99% of the qualified candidates will be ex-mil.
It's a valid point--supposedly, a Top-Secret Clearance costs the government up to $20k. That's because they send out agents to interview your neighbors, friends, employers, and references you've listed for the last 10 years. They have to check your financial history, as guys who are broke tend to be more likely to sell Secrets to foreign powers.
So, unless you bring a clearance to the interview, EG&G would have to pick up the tab.
Unless you worked for a government contractor who got you a clearance, you probably don't have a shot.

supposedly older 737s, getting newer ones and someone already mentioned the starting pay is much better than the majors. doesnt increase as fast but hell, you get to stay home, so who cares? this business is alla bout give and take and after being away from home so much, i would gladly take a pay cut for that, also i dont think you would be flying any whiny kids or moms so that is an added bonus. you think dragging marine guys across the ocean is bad, try a 70 yr old retired guy who wants to sit in the cockpit and gab for 10 hrs to yakota!
