Dunno..I am sure someone knows but the number is probably dynamic with FedEx hiring. Today was my last day of training so I probably wont have the inside scoop anymore...hopefully someone else in training will stop by HR and see what they are up 2.

JetLaggy,
congrats of finishing. I am guessing you are in the 75. Its a great plane if this is you first time in it. I am taking that number is locked away in a brown safe in PD office. One of these months I will get out of this pool. Just not this month.

Can you guys tell if they are still interviewing for line pilots or are they just interviewing the mgt pilots? With all the growth it seems that they would need more than the 300 announced last year :-) I'm sure the negotiations aren't helping in the interviewing/hiring...

jetlaggy,
I hope you are right about those classes in Nov and Dec. I talked to HR last week (Wed) and they had nothing to say about classes next month. Been in the pool almost 9 months, hope to get there soon.

Although specific numbers weren't mentioned, on Friday the UPS Chief Pilot cited that with our continuing expansion in the Asian market, and with just the announced future aircraft acquisitions, UPS will continue to hire through 2006. Big surprise
For the first time in a while, we are conducting training for MD11 crews during our peak season of Nov-Dec. We have not hired any line pilots directly into the right seat of the MD11 yet.
