This is ture.

I left that place awhile ago now, and I now see that it was an allright place but the non-stop VFR pattern work for over a year will bore any instructor. From what I hear nothing has changed from my orginal post except the pay.

They still really need instructors, and you're intial salary is based on how much dual given you have.
Go for it, IF you have talked to people who have worked there and its something that intrests you.

The new starting salary is 45-56k depending on dual given. If you are looking for a lot of flight time, this is not the place to be. I am averaging 40-50 hours per month. However, I am paid for 40 hours worth of work per week. My class is currently in ground school, so I have worked dispatch for 3 hours per day and flown about 10 flight hours since December 12th, but my pay doesn't reflect that. So if your priority isn't gaining large amounts of flight hours, it is a good place to be. Bascuela has his issues with the company, but no company is going to perfect, or so I assume. Bascuela, is your regional perfect?

My company has a lot of pilots to train, and we need CFI's. After the second pay raise in 8 months, I thought I'd post some details.

Requirements:
CFII, Second Class Medical; no minimum flight times

Compensation:
- With 0-499 hours of dual-given: $45,000 per year
- With 500-1999 hours dual-given: $52,000 per year
- Over 2000 hours dual-given: $56,000 per year

This is guaranteed pay, independent of number of hours flown per month.

Company-paid full medical, dental, and vision insurance (great insurance), 401(k) program with a company match

Company-paid moving assistance

Pay during training, housing assistance during training

Travel benefits on domestic and international airlines

Paid vacation, holidays and sick time

Raytheon-Beechcraft maintenance facility on location, top-notch aircraft and maintenance. We fly A-36 Bonanzas and B-58 Barons.

Use of company facilities to get your ATP written and practical done; use of company aircraft for the ATP practical test

The company is the International Flight Training Academy in Bakersfield, CA (http://ifta.aero). They ask that you agree to either a one year or two year employment term. It's a great way to knock a leg off those student loans if you are coming out of school.

You really can't beat this job as far as CFI gigs go, and the quality of life can't be beat. The schedule is Monday-Friday, weekends off. Nights only occasionally (about once or twice a year).

Living in Bakersfield isn't spectacular, but like anything it's all about your attitude. There are plenty of things to do if you look. California has a ton of places to see, a lot of which are close enough to Bakersfield for a weekend trip.

Send me a PM if you are interested.

Hi!
Thanks for giving this info.
Can you share bit more info on the followings;

-Travel benefits, what % do you get off on what airlines?

-How many vacation days per year?

-You said that 1 or 2 year contract is requiered. What is the downside of 1 year contract over 2? I'm guessing there gotta be some difference between the two otherwise everyone will sign up for 1 year, right?

-Night flight- roughly 2 times a year? If you are training more than 2 initial students per year, how can you fly only get 2 night flights?

thank you very much, David

How did your interview go? I did the online application last week and haven't heard anything back yet. How long did it take you to get a callback?

Good Old Bakersfield... I stuck here in NKY for Comair training. Btown doesn't sound that bad right now.
