There are other flight schools that pay 35-40k your first year. In my experience it seems that as long as you're making enough to live off of (25k or so in my neck of the woods) then there are more important things to consider before accepting a job. CFIs are in high demand now, there's no need to settle on a company that doesn't fit you.
Make sure you talk to the other instructors who work there. Are they happy? Can they easily move to more challenging aircraft? Are they flying too much or too little? Are they respected my the management? Do they get crap for cancelling a flight or writing up an a/c when there's a problem?

My Sim partner came from there and his experience sounded pretty miserable...also, Bakersfield is one of the least enjoyable places I have visited in Calif. Living there for two years would be a like a jail sentence...don't do it.

I worked at IFTA for 4 years. I'd highly recommend it to anybody. It's a great place to work, just like every job there is a little politics involved. You will fly great equipment and get awesome experience. Drop me a line if you want to know more. Two years of flight instructing is nothing if you look at your whole career.
