Default Did CAL cancel new hire classes???

I am supposed to go to class for Continental on October 11th. I got a call from a friend of mine at Eagle who said that the ALPA info rep said that he was told that all future CAL new hire classes are canceled. I pray this is not true. I called a few friends of mine and have yet to hear from them. I know they canceled all checkrides and trainig for the weekend due to hurricane, I hope this was misunderstood. Let me know if anyone knows anything.

No, I don't think so. They cancelled what you already knew about. Now if the huricanne had wiped out IAH for a monbth or so then I would have said all bets are off. But everything we are getting in communication is that Sun was close to normal and Monday will be normal.

BTW, congrats on the job. I'm a new 737 CA maybe we will fly sometime in EWR.

I sure home it is all rumor. Of course what isn't in aviation. Talked to a couple of my buddys at CAL and they said they haven't heard anything. Hope to see you in EWR!!!

A friend of mine just finished his pre-hire simulator check and was offered a job on the spot to start in 2 weeks. He asked how many Continental was expecting to hire and the answer was "alot". Also, there are no cancellations or changes to hiring due to the recent weather events.
