HA Pilots don't let the Spin fool you, no word on any subjects from the MEC especially the Bock 3 Rep who was holding the line on the Forum.

They are not curious because "they" are the MEC and Negotiating Committee, taking over Central like they did Voggers. Can't infiltrate our page can you? LOL Good try "HaoleGoHome" infiltrating our page is a fail-proof system friend, our software engineer/pilot is the man!

HA Pilots just so we all are clear, a special arrangement was made for a very important "VOLUNTEER" Negotiating Committee member so he would avoid going on VEBA. We all know how important these members are, remember the excellent 65% Ratification Contract we got with all those great LOA's. Please keep in mind we also have the Negotiating Chair (ALPA National now) receiving 90 hours a month since 2019, do the math!

My apologies, let me be more clear, the DART response said "Please contact your REP". LOL

Lying, hmmm so the negotiating committee member didn't receive ALPA pay to avoid VEBA? DO BETTER BRO, MEC you need someone smarter on your Goon group.

Let's revisit all the other items the Block 3 REP refused to answer after coming on here making a statement then going DARK:

- Why is your FLICA blocked?
- Why can't you post the Van usage log on an ALPA communication memo?
- Was it your idea for the Van?
- are you ok with ALPA pay on weekends and Holidays?
- are you ok with ALPA "Comp" days with no work hours being tracked on a spreadsheet?
- are you ok with the MEC Chair receiving 90 hrs a month without ever being in Hawaii working remotely?
- are you ok with the lead negotiator receiving 90 hrs a month without ever being in Hawaii working remotely?
- are you ok with a negotiating committee member out for two years on ALPA pay without entering VEBA?
- are you ok with the Vice Chair snowboarding while on ALPA pay and missing a TA road show?
- are you ok with the MEC buying a 50k van and not getting approval from the pilot group?
- are you ok with the MEC starting a LEC to avoid a pilot MEC vote?
- Can we please see all PUB Night and Christmas party costs?
- Please define "Volunteer"?

That is not what this is about though is it?

See you at the next LEC meeting, oh wait, no I won't.
There was just a post on Voggers about how there ISN’T a LEC meeting even scheduled at the moment. Find the poop emoji post from January 24.
I believe one of the NC even attempted to question the value of face to face meetings too.

And for as for any of them being readily available, block 4 rep has been very difficult to reach.

Bro out here discovering people who work full time get paid full time thinking it’s a smoking gun. Believe it or not the world isn’t flat!

So - honest question. I honestly don't know a lot about this. I don't want to make anyone angry if this is a sensitive info (and it seems like a lot of information isn't open?)

Is there a lot of money to be made for being involved in union? Do union leadership have extra work rules to play with to get paid a lot more? or are we paying union dues to pay our union leaders? Not sure how this works. I am confused because I was always told union work is all voluntary and there is no money involved whatsoever. So I always viewed/treated union people with respect since they are doing a lot of work for us and are seldom thanked for it.

But I am reading all these crazy comments about 90 hrs or not using sick/vacation times and I am honestly lost on what the correct information is.

have a little integrity for you position as a professional pilot. All these questions have answers and can be answered by MEC. If you have actual concerns be a man and call or email instead of leaving the dirty laundry out behind a keyboard.
Feel free to demand accountability, that in fact is an attribute we need. I find it hard to believe that you’ve tried to resolve your issues because every Alpa volunteer at every level has always been available to me with one phone call or email.

I can speak from experience at another (ALPA) property, but it's pretty much the same here.

There is no money to be made doing union work, even if you are getting 90 hours month. You miss out on recall. You miss out on line growth. Also, an MEC member is constantly getting phone calls and emails and texts from pilots. Guys will call to give their opinons, to complain, to offer suggestions, to complain, to get clarification, and to complain. It never stops. There are no days off. There is no "time free from duty". So that 90 hours is covering 30 days of work, not the 15 or so that a pilot could probably hold off and still get the 90 hours. This is the same for any committee members who happen to be on full time for a period of time for whatever reason. I think here, the NC chair is the only committee member who is on full time, and a lot of that is probably paid by ALPA national because they are doing work there as an EVP. I think some other committee members have been full time periodically if work requires it, but not every month.

Most volunteer positions get some flight pay covered for the work they do, but they are very often doing lots of work outside of those times as well, and not getting paid for it. They still fly a regular line, minus a trip or two (maybe).

There certainly have been cases of MEC members and committee members abusing the system, but I really don't see that happening here.
