Amazon holds warrents that amount to just about 15% of Hawaiian's stock. As of the end of Q1 (most recent discolsures) they haven't executed enough of those warrents to break 1% of the stock ownership, if any at all. Additionally, should the merger go through, any shares they do hold will be paid out at $18 a share, just like every other shareholder.

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL, as it's out of our hands. As with all mergers, the shareholders will be taken care of, the golden parachutes will be popping, the passengers will get over it, and us peons... Well... We can eat cake. Honestly, for the younger pilots, I think the synergies for BOTH groups are going to provide a lot of potential over the years. As for older guys like me... It's a wash.
IF this goes through, we pilots need to stick together as no one else is going to have our backs.

Trust me, lots of US are asking the same thing about you guys. Why did it have to be a single fleet 737 carrier? It will get a little nuts here for a year or two if this does not go through, but it will not end us. We've been through worse times. Trust me.

I hate it when everyone plays dumb. Hawaiian pilots get security, Alaska pilots get wide bodies. That is a pretty big win for both groups. I think 10 years from now everyone will look back on this as an amazing deal for all involved. There will be bumps in the road, it won’t go perfectly, but yes a really good deal for everyone! Sink or swim we are all soon in this together.
Almost everyone I've talked to is waiting for this week to make any financial moves, large purchases etc. Many lower seniority guys have apps out at the Big 3 just in case. Some are trying to time their interviews so as to not burn bridges at a Delta or United. HA people gain financial security, a better management team, less waste, more efficiencies and a more aggressive business strategy. ( and hopefully we won't have to scratch our heads in amazement at whatever decision was made in terms of training, scheduling, or any other countless shenanigans we've witnessed over the last several years.) Many get to maybe not have to commute in a few years when any possible fences are gone. We also should benefit from Alaska's snap-up if it remains in tact.
Alaska gets widebody flying and routes that would otherwise be hard to obtain.
