Nice you just about nailed that local bottom. Solid work. Or total set up for failure.

Only time will tell!!

Most airline stocks are down.

Except Alaska. So I guess if you wanted to try to read tea leaves you could interpret that HA down and ALK up means somebody has concerns about the merger.

But they're also on different exchanges, I wouldn't get too wound up just yet.

CFRA came out a little bit ago with a stock overview and HA has it as a strong sell. I'm not going to copy and paste the report but it's bad. That could be the reason for todays mess. However, with AS ALPA calling a special meeting today and tomorrow along with HA MEC, it could be something related to the merger. I did buy some shares at $10.80 this morning, so I guess we will see within the next 13 days if that was a good or bad call. Fingers crossed.

I'm pretty sure I knew about the special meeting a week ago. I think it has to do with merger process, so I don't think it's any late-breaking news.

Even if it did, they wouldn't need a two-day meetingt in SEA just to tell people that the merger is off, or being opposed. Nor would they need a meeting to tell people that the merger is not opposed, I'm sure that news, either way, will be in the media within minutes.

The limited insight that I have from the HQ side is that the company is proceeding full speed ahead with merger preparations. Seems like a lot of time and money being invested, I don't think the company is very worried about the DOJ. But I guess B6/NK got taken by surprise too.

Also at this point the DOJ (and WH) have an opportunity to reflect on the consequences of their last blocked merger, since NK looks to be headed for Ch.11 within months.

Go into your brokrage account and check it out. It is from S&P Global. They are just analysing the stock and company financials. Not much about the merger.

In that case, it might be a bargain. Already corrected for the business situation, with potential upside for merger approval.

Ooops, Seeking Alpha is speculating about DOJ opposition...

https://seekingalpha.com/news/4127596-hawaiian-holdings-tumbles-amid-report-doj-may-move-to-block-alaska-air-deal

But unlike B6, AS+HA might very well fight it in court. Especially if they can drag it out to Jan 20, the DOJ might suddenly drop the case on Jan 21st.

I saw that this morning. But it seems to be pure speculation.
No evidence to back up there title just conjecture.
