But you want to go out guns blazing on your way to being a probationary pilot again.. that's your call.

No...but to your point, there has always been pilots who cross over between union work and go into management...at all airlines. Plenty of Chief Pilots in the industry have a background in union work. Some pilots like to just fly their trips, others have a strong interest in the nuts and bolts of the airline and like to be involved in all sorts of ways. Personally I'm glad there are pilots that do get involved beyond just flying their trips.
Also, having a background in union work, and taking a union position as a resume builder for your management goals isn't the same.
Using the union as a stepping stone blurs the lines and priorities of the people we depend on. Dangerous if you ask me.

Just saying, you brought up self inteest. Taking a position to select check pilots, and then immediately applying makes me question your motives. This isn't about the inner workings of the airline, it's about pay and schedule.

But if this merger goes through, all of that brown-nosing will be for nothing.

I'm just scratching my head at what you think you're trying to accomplish, other than blow up your CJO at United. No minds are being changed here. And 90% can't even follow what you're discussing because it's all insider stuff.

Just forwarded your message to my recommendation at TK, and his reply was, "Let him know we will return the favor when they are up for bid". I won't be guns blazing at UA because their MEC has integrity.
