The way this is going, HA might not even make it to the merger. Lost 100 million in 4th quarter. Total negative 260 million for the year 2023.

I believe I said give ‘em hell. Koapaka won’t be in change anymore so we’ll have collective hope that Seattles way is better. I’ve worked for more than 5 previous carriers and a few had the benefit of being small. Walking through AMR was grosser than Koapaka, but I see/feel some similarities. I’m as uninvolved with corporate as possible.

Fostro, trying to figure out why you keep talking about Unity when your position is not in line with the majority of HA pilots? Your compaints about the MEC seem rooted in your
own personal discontent with Hawaii and a lot of his coworkers as well as a lack of appreciation of reality due, in large part, to limited experience in the industry. Your list of complaints seem pretty weak to me and oddly, appear to have focused on a surfing injury as somehow being extra villainous? (hint, you're at Hawaiian Airlines) One just has to look at the USAir/USAPA debacle to know how destructive angry bitter pilots can get. Fortunately both HA and Alaska has a lot of solid veterans and this merger combines two very storied survivors of deregulation, both airlines bring a lot to the table. This MEC has a lot of experience and the simple fact is the SLI will have to go to arbitration. Trying to undermine them and replace them with an inexperinced new crew is a recipe for disaster and could have far reaching negative consequences to your career and retirement. Truly, they have a lot of experience and you actually don't have all the answers. Insight and wisdom should continue to evolve as you gain more experience.

Not in line with the HA pilots? Did you see the last pilot survey? No HA pilot has seen the survey so how do you know what the "Majority" is? Let me tell you, the MEC didn't release the survey because it was a disaster! I bet the word RECALL was mentioned over and over again. MEC all you have to do is prove me wrong and release the HA Pilots Survey, I mean we paid for it.

The MEC is doing a fantastic job, the pilots know it and support them.
Now get back to your desk job at Koapaka.

Just so I can understand your point of view vs fostro, would you mind sharing some things you think the MEC is doing a fantastic job at? I really haven’t come across many who are all that thrilled with them on the 330, apart from ALPA volunteers who give them a wide berth and very diplomatic responses to my questions. Maybe your fleet is different, and it’d be nice to understand why.

Have you tried to have a conversation other than “what’s for dinner” or studying? Share your knowledge of your previous shop’s contract or how ALPA worked there? Making comparisons isn’t complaining contrary to popular belief here. Pull at that thread a little, it may surprise you.
