No. My point was more that there are all kinds of reasons pilots block their schedules besides bot usage. I'm not sure any of them are really legit reasons though.

Privacy isn’t criminal, but it feels shady. Hiding your schedule from you significant other thing is especially shady. It’s also feels judgy to assume anything too. If I had to guess it’s a driven by sick call. Chief may not catch you surfing sick, but a line pilot might?

Am I the only one that thinks it's weird that you guys are able to creep on each other's schedules? Seems like a privacy issue to me.

Not when you’re on reserve and trying to see if the junior people got tagged with a flight. Or if you need to see how much your significant other is taking home.

But I respect the privacy argument too. People have reasons for not wanting their contact info on an ALPA contact list too. It’s just the way some people are.

Although I may have a new found justification. Keeping some posters here in the dark so they assumes the worst in me...

We have access to the reserve list, so easy to see if something was assigned out of order. No reason to see someone else's schedule.

I look at schedules all the time to see if a trip trade request is even viable before asking. Makes life easier for everyone.

Yes. This is an airline. We don't do M-F unless we are super senior. Stuff happens when it happens.

- are you ok with the MEC Chair receiving 90 hrs a month without ever being in Hawaii?

I've flown a bunch of flights that he's been on going to and from Hawaii in the past 12 months, so I don't think that's correct. As far as 90 hours a month go... sure I'm ok with that as long as he's getting stuff done. Most places have the entire MEC plus a bunch of committee chairs on full time ALPA work. Welcome to the big leagues, son.

- are you ok with the lead negotiator receiving 90 hrs a month, never in Hawaii, and living in Maine?

Just based on PUB events and lounge sits and what not, I'd say he's in Hawaii pretty often. Same as above for 90 hours a month. Who cares as long as he's doing stuff. And from how much you were *****ing about the number of LOAs that we've had, I'd guess you'd agree he's doing negotiating.

- are you ok with a negotiating committee member out for two years on ALPA pay without using sick leave?

I'm pretty sure he used sick leave. But even if not... most of that was during the contract and ratification process. So obviously he was doing work. I don't see the issue.

- are you ok with the Vice Chair snowboarding while on ALPA pay and missing a TA road show?

If he was on ALPA days over a road show he probably should have been at the road show. But if that's your only beef with him, it seems pretty minor.

- are you ok with the MEC buying a 50k van and not getting approval from the pilot group?

Yep. We elect MECs to do stuff for us. They did stuff. Did you expect them to have a poll to see what color car you wanted them to buy or something? Also, I hate to tell you, but 50k is probably a pretty good deal considering the amount that would get charged back for rental cars over the lifetime of the van. I'd guess it's saving us money.

- are you ok with the MEC starting a LEC to avoid a pilot vote?

I'm not sure what you are talking about here.
Hmmmm is your FLICA is blocked and are you on ALPA Pay?

Nope. And nope. No way in hell am I giving up all of the pay benefits of flying the line to do ALPA work right now.

You need to reevaluate your line, as a Safety Chair you can get +97 hours with only 5 trips, pick your days off, and hang out with execs, not to mention all Holidays and weekends off whenever you want them. You have to be in the top 10% to beat that schedule, most of the senior guys I fly with are working their A&$ off for a 90-hour line.

Then again we are on opposite sides of the fence, you don't have any problems with a guy out on sick leave for two years while receiving ALPA pay. The rest of us would be on VEBA or begging the pilot group for a vacation donation.

At my last property, all ALPA Pay was posted monthly including work performed. If I were "King" I would implement this immediately, HA Pilots need to know who is being paid while snowboarding.
