We need to focus on a better contract with the new combined airline. The nightmare that replays in my mind is we have the same group working on our new merged contract.
No Furloughs and in Unity...

I feel your pain! Highly doubt any furloughs however we will be flying a 737 somewhere, top 10% will enjoy HNL flying if it remains. All Airbus aircraft will be gone, Amazon will be dumped, it is a low earner as stated by HA CEO, which leaves us to the current AS route and a few WB 787's.

After seeing this, I do feel for you. I hope it was still the right decision.

Reading all these comments makes me very nervous that I will be displaced out of HNL. If that becomes the case, then I would have been better off at Delta.
But if I can still somehow live and fly from Hawaii - I would be happy with that. I wouldn't mind flying whatever airplane.

Sorry friend, I do not mean to ruin a Holiday Season but the rhetoric about nothing is changing needs to stop. Glad the senior line pilots are telling me what is happening and not painting a great postcard picture of Hawaii and its local airline remaining intact. Hoping for the best but my gut is telling me otherwise. Just for insurance, applications are all done, praying interviews will follow. Hopefully, it all works out in the end, history shows us we have the wrong MEC and negotiators leading us into this session.

I think I made the best decision for myself with what was known at the time. I was looking forward to spending the rest of my life in Hawaii.

EDIT: Just adding that a furlough or bankruptcy isn't something I would be concerned with if the merger goes through. Maybe if the merger isn't allowed, but that was Hawaiians same financial situation before the merger when you accepted the job. Just enjoy training, get settled out there in Hawaii and live your life.
