The AS pilot group got it's first scope clause last year with it's most recent contract. They used a lot of negotiating capital to get it because previously there was none. It was the highest priority for the group when polled during negotiations. I can unequivocally say that the AS guys wont give an inch and will be supportive of your more restrictive scope.
Keep your expectations there - wb capt in 10 years wont happen. The percentage of wb flying is going way down for you guys and once fences come down in 5 years or whatever they end up being they will shift that flying around (probably to Seattle). Also the AS pilot group is relatively young and has only about 80 retirements a year (out of 3200). It sucks, but at least youll have better job security and your commuters will have some west coast base options.

Anyone who moves from Washington state will suffer an immediate 10-11% reduction in net pay. That's just one of the reasaons that SEA was a senior base and many 330 drivers move to Vegas or other tax free places.
Adding flights from West Coast lines will be difficult. HA flies about 150 interisland flights per day form 0500-2230. You need these for commuters and others who fly between the islands constantly. It is cheaper to fly a round trip than to stay in a hotel over night as the rates are through the roof. You can't **** off the loyal customers or Southwest will be happy to pick up the slack.
SEA may become a widebody base (Just a guess) because it will open up Europe to Hawaii flights as well as more Asian service.

The HNL base will eventually be gone. HA has mentioned closing the WB base on several occasions, no other airline has a base in HNL. The cost to operate a base in HNL is CRAZY expensive, just look at the cost of living. All flights will originate off the West Coast and maybe a few WB based in HNL, 10 crews per tail if we're lucky.

Exactly. Slots are all city dependent on both ends. They will not be able to shift all wide body to Seattle because delta already does the routes from SEA and the Japanese and Aussies want to go Hawaii.
It’s going to be 7+ years before Alaska gets wide body in SEA. That’s just the Boeing backlog

No idea if the options have delivery date placeholders. But AS is very, very tight with BCA, I wouldn't strictly rule out them getting preferential treatment. In fact I'd assume that if they already want more or sooner 787's, that they already worked that out with BCA on the DL before the merger announcement.

Ok, HNL bases will remain intact and all WB's will continue flying to the coast and Asia. Japan is a booming market and all flying will remain. Also, we will continue our inter-island sea glider project that cost HA 10 million bucks! lol
Now that's the dumbest take you've ever seen! LOL
