I have to say Hawaiian's response in regards to them reduced hiring has been pathetic. Them estimating a lower required workforce is not the issue but it has been their response since. Somehow it took nearly a month for them to "determine" people's list in the pool. Once this number was finally determined, to state they are committed to hiring from the pool in 2024 and 2025 but under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will CJO's be extended beyond 1 year is completely classless! You're clearly not committed to hiring from the pool! We will probably see an issue in 2025 where so many prospective pilots who have been patient and committed to Hawaiian Airlines have their CJO's expire and people who have been waiting half the amount of time will get offers. Hawaiian needs to take a chapter out of Southwest's book and extend those CJO's and show some faith in people who have invested time and effort into them! I understand it's conditional but that doesn't negate the use of common sense and humility.

You should be a applying elsewhere and taking whatever comes first
To compare HA to SW is dumb. One has close to 13 billion in the bank and a profitable operation up until last quarter. The other is losing 1.5 million dollars a day.

It’s a CJO. It’s conditional based on a myriad of factors. Those factors probably also include many people at Koapaka knowing they probably won’t have a job if the merger goes through and their work will shift to those already in Seattle. If the merger doesn’t go through then the company is going to have to reorganize and come with a way to make a profit- probably with less pilots and re-negotiated employment contracts. Sorry to say- you are not really a priority

Obviously, apply for everything and anything!

Hey! So, a friend of mine got his CJO last October, and they called him for the April 2 class. He said two guys in his class were from November. I got my CJO on January 26, and they told me to expect a class date in July, August, or September. But, I received an email a few weeks ago saying it might be subject to change and could be longer than initially expected.

Folks with CJO if you don't mind sharing your dates of CJO current position and main fleet preference Freight or Pax, maybe we can find the pattern here.
