Hello! Thank you
My bid was 330, 321, 717 in that order.
330 ended up not being offered to our class and I was the bottom 3rd in my class seniority so I ended up getting the 717!
It wasn't the plane that I was hoping for, but I'll make peace with what I got! I am still VERY excited to be here. From what I hear- I am going to have a great QOL and so much fun with the 717!!
Class instructors are telling us the 'latest' seniority to bid for 717 CA is 4.5 months. Even if that is true, I think I am going to fly around for 6+ months at least to learn the operation and pick up local knowledge to feel comfortable. But the opportunity to go left seat in less than a year at a major airline is just wonderful!
Looking forward to learn a lot from you guys!

I'm curious how the class seniority worked? I hear it's by SS number? Can you describe what's low and what's high? Is it last 4 etc?
What is the policy on facial hair?
Thanks!

Just wondering for those who commute inter-island, what is life like getting to work out of KOA? Brought the S/O out to take a look around Oahu and they weren't blown away by the housing along the main streets of Manoa, Kahala, and Wahiaua. When we went to KOA, we were really impressed with the topography and how some of the houses around Kalaoa had more yard to them. I've heard of people commuting from OGG, but just wondering what life would be like commuting from the Big Island. Any chance the 321 side has some trips that start with a (droppable) deadhead to KOA?
On a related note, just curious if anybody is familiar with places on Oahu where we might be able to find a little more breathing room. We would be coming from a fairly rural area and would like to find somewhere where kids could have a yard to play in

The Big island is definitely the island with the open space.
I'd probably live in Mililani if I was looking at Oahu realistically.

What’s your budget? Oahu: Kailua/Kaneohe 1.2-1.8mil - most houses have yards. Ewa beach - newer houses w/ internal air, some kind of yard - used to be 600-700k pre Covid, near 1 mil - 1.2 now with a few cheaper ones here and there. Island wide I’m seeing rents for single family houses for $3500 -4500 /mo. I don’t know how people do it.

321 has some trips that start with a deadhead to KOA, some that end with a deadhead from KOA, and some that both start and end with a deadhead to/from KOA.
On Oahu, Ewa/Kapolei are probably the most affordable for single family homes with a yard. Mililani is also a good suburban option with relatively decent public schools.
