Doubt it. The Amazon birds aren't ours. They are Amazon's lease. We're not even on the lease. Just operating.
The "new" 787s tell me there's going to be a fire sale on our 330s in 4-5 years after the first Boeing hits property. Kind of like how fast the 767 went away once the 330 hit critical mass. All of the old heads thought the 767 would be around for a lot longer, then poof. When it finally went, it went pretty fast. It would have gone twice as fast if not for the delays in the 321 program.
I like the 330. It would be nice to se us get some 330 NEOs. Add the 220s to replace the 717s. Oh well. I guess I have to re-learn using the terms LNAV/VNAV.

We better be exercising all the 787 options then, and even with that, still less pax widebodies than what we have now.
As long as Amazon is running, we will always be needing a 330 curriculum. It's cheaper to keep the 330s around vs looking for another new widebody on top of the 787. I can see a few of the beater 330s going away once the leases expire, but the 330s may be around longer than we think.
Management says they want to keep expanding but they're short on aircraft. Keeping the 330s around longer will be the most economical way to fix that issue.

Seems reasonable to me. Heavy flying into CVG, JFK, ORD etc, all winter is a bit more involving than 360 days of VFR in Hawaii/California. Northeast winters and Southeast Summers are much different than weather on the West Coast. We'll need atleast some experience in both seats.

Hawaiian Hiring FOs
So I meet the minimum requirements to apply for an FO position at Hawaiian, which has always been one of my top choices for long term career positions. I do have several questions.
1. What equipment do FOs typically start out on (B717 is my assumption).
2. While I have a place on Oahu I currently live on the mainland for my current carrier, does Hawaiian allow commuting? Do they provide housing during training?
3. How long is the upgrade time from FO to CA and from B717 to A330 or A321
Lastly , I am aware that having connections at a major can be helpful in the process of getting hired….anyone looking for a new friend?
Thanks in advance to any answers provided

Hours are all over the place, 58 hours block with 78 hours credit or 78 hrs block and 90 hrs credit. It’s up to you. It’s a lot of work, 4-8 legs a day. 20 min - 55 min legs.
