What equipment are the vacancies on for new hires based on the last bid?

All three fleets are short-staffed and have openings. A330, A321, and 717. Seems like each class is divided equally.

If you pay $400k and get 18 days off, you got a deal. Otherwise, good luck trying to steal airline pilots.

Well now we know where the Virgin Airbus may end up, heard it here first.

I'm scratching my head at the last bid. A couple fleets are short sure but sooooooo many new hires! for what???? I could see a couple in each fleet but something is going on there. I was told 50 out of 80 new hire slots for FO on 717?!? Just to start.

Management won't exercise the extra 9 options because the door configuration is going to be different. I don't see Hawaiian getting 321s with different engines.

How recent is this bid? How does it look for a new hire to get the 321 or 330?

The award just came out. Seniority in class is done by last four social, the lower the better. So if you can be atleast 50%, chances are pretty good.

But obviously, no guarantee

So many rumors lately, but if Hawaiian is going to grow as an airline they need to expand outside of Hawaii flying. Could the Virgin aircraft be retrofitted with different engines? Seem pretty silly that different interior configuration of new NEOs would prevent growth at this point.

pretty wild that 717 FO only has 32 pilots with the rest being vacant. Most of those 32 are also new hires that can’t move anyways due to seatlocks. Training and scheduling is already having a hard enough time keeping everyone current and qualified. It’s gonna be an interesting summer for sure.
