Retention will not be great with some of the new hires and both sides of the airline are a hard sale. I believe we have tapped out all the island boys (and girls).
Even if we did have a decent contract, it still won't stop the mainland people using Hawaiian as a stepping stone. It's just reality that we don't have the attraction and shine of a real major.

Agree completely, if we are presented with a TA with today’s environment of the other airlines receiving decent contracts then yea, better for us but will we be able to retain folks…?
With our first year pay and incremental years being below everyone else, as you stated, how are we going to attract and retain?
Unlike the past, going back and forth with a TA elsewhere, I would hope something is presented to us early and it is respectable and the values that we deserve.

Hoping they adjust the curve on FO rates too, delta year 2 FO on DOS compared to ours:

717: $149 (114 at HA)
321: $166 (127) Does not include delta etops pay
330: $206 (156)

We need an initial raise of over 30% on all fleets just to be in the pallpark on the FO side. Hopefully management and our NC sees this and not only gets parity for those in the left seat, but the right seat too. I’m just a couple years over 50% of our fleet will be wide-bodies.

latest class drop at delta was in the double digits for going to various WB including the 330.

are those Deltas current rates or the rates in the new TA? Either way, we certainly need a contract that is on par with the current environment.

Rates with the TA, Delta has an ocean crossing/transcon override on the 321/737 max as well that’s not factored in.

Past July, everything is done except pay rates, vacation credit, and healthcare so we’re told. I do not know if Deltas TA has changed this or if we’re back to the drawing board in some areas. NC was supposed to meet with the company for discussions this week and update us. Haven’t heard anything…yet.

full TA. The latest comms was down to the economic items of the contract and that they made it clear to the company that full retro would be required if no AIP by Dec. 2nd.

^^^ The union email just made it pretty clear that there will be no deal this year. Negotiations to resume in January 2023. My bet is summer. At least summer for a TA. Whether it's summer 2023 or summer 2024 remains to be seen. Same stuff, different day. Sigh.

But keep applying. We will have a CVG base that you can get juniored into. Just in time for winter.
