They’ve been meeting with the company this week, sounds like everything has been negotiated except pay and some other economic things. Hopefully after Delta, Alaska, and Spirit the company plays ball this week and we have an agreement soon?

You missed United, American, Southwest and prob FedEx. Then the company will offer something lowball and we will vote no.

Well just because they have negotiated on all of it, we would still have to vote on it. “They” don’t decide. This could go on for months.

Ah yes, I meant and agreement more in the form of an AIP to vote on. I would hope looking at what has happened at a couple other carriers that they wouldn’t send something below market to the pilot group.

We are now the lowest first year pay in the industry again outside of allegiant, and our FO rates lag far behind most of the competition even with their current contracts. Hopefully they realize they’re not going to be able to attract the 300+ pilots they need to staff Amazon and the 787s with that kind of mentality. Retention will not be great with some of the new hires and both sides of the airline are a hard sale. I believe we have tapped out all the island boys (and girls).

Agree. It's not $36/hr anymore but still $10/hr less than the "average" Legacy carrier first year rate.
The management narrative has been that they haven't had any trouble thus far with applicants, why worry.
I think staffing the freight ops. should be easier than getting pilots out to Hawaii in terms of new hires. Central US base with Gateways, widebody Legacy rates (vs most CMI contracts), an option to go to Hawaii after a year depending on vacancies, seemingly ridiculous widebody upgrade times on brand new A330-300's. I'd say Hawaiian Amazon may be a close 3rd choice vs. UPS/FDX in terms of career expectations if it ever grows to 55 a/c.
