Updated APC page refers to Maui as a “secondary hub” in the QuickTake.

I assume no, but is there talk of that eventually becoming a crew base?

717 crews still overnighting regularly?

It always seems to get talked about but nothing yet. I think that is in reference to how many flights we do out of Maui not that it’s an actual base. If you’re jr 321 you can basically plan on flying everything out of OGG. Good credit trips tho. Opening a base there would be a big hit to a lot of crews and most would much rather see a west coast opening.

What are the trips like on the 321?

Almost strictly 2 days worth 11-13 hrs. Min overnights but good efficiency. Great if you bid OGG trips and get paid for a DH you don’t take.

Hey! Thanks for the run down. Do you ever see longer overnights on the 321? How many days a month do you average working on that side of the house?

before Covid we had some longer trips. LAX 3 days are always available and the other 3 days seem to alternate destinations. 16-17 days off is very doable on the 321

Are the 3 days one leg to LAX, overnight for a day then back to the island, or do you do an island turn then back to LAX before going back to HNL?

Aside from the trip pairings, are you happy there? Does the work group seem to enjoy working there? Is there anything you’d like to see change?

there on day one and back on day 3. Money is good but work rules need a lot of work. Hopeful for some help with that on this upcoming contract. I personally like it but would love more base options. Crashpad I’m HNL can be difficult and expensive. As for change, the company is regularly about 20 years behind the times.

Thanks for taking time in giving your perspective! I really appreciate it. Currently at a ULCC, which I thought was going to be home, but with the shake-up of everything lately, I’m reevaluating my life and revisiting my dream of working for HAL. Really appreciate your time!
