get the jet time.
I have to second this. Best way to get to Hawaiian is going to a regional (Skywest). They want to see mainland flying experience in a jet. It's tempting to come back to Hawaii for a flying job before Hawaiian, but just stay put at the regional. If for some reason Hawaiian doesn't call, you still have other options.

Default Aircraft assignment

I understand class seniority is last 4 of SSN. Does anybody know when you find out your aircraft assignment? 1st day of class or is it beforehand? Mahalo

Seniority goes from lowest to highest last four SSN. Typically you'll get an email for a class date and you respond with your aircraft preference. Before class, you'll get an email saying which aircraft you can expect, but it's still tentative. Haven't heard of anyone getting their aircraft selection switched yet. Expect all fleets for each class

Usually the second day. You get set up with your IT stuff like iPad etc,. Then you electronically bid. The class Indoc instructor tracks it and then lets everyone know. Last class had all fleets, except 787 of course.
It happens, two classes ago, guys changed their minds and resulted differently than the predicted/tentative notifications. Big jet envy.

SSN 1234 has in-class seniority over 9321? Something I had read on here previously made me think it was the opposite so just confirming. Thanks.

Yes, that’s correct. Each airline does it differently. SWA does it by bday (oldest most senior and youngest most junior), Delta does it inverse 9XXX is most senior while 0XXX is most junior.

Anyone know when the June class starts and how big it's going to be?

We had 22 new hires start today and 8 more starting in a few weeks. We plan on being 50% larger as a pilot group in one years time! From JL, very good things coming in 2023 at HAL…
