85% or MORE of all trips on 321 are 2-day trips. 90% of those will have DH's on both ends to neighbor islands, while the SUPER senior ones will be direct from HNL. All have early show times in morning except a few in the mid morning. Brutal wake-ups on the west coast. Most have less than 11 hour (10.25-10.50) airplane to airplane overnights giving you just a little over NINE HOURS in the hotel. Personally, this is why I went back to the 330. The back to back double-deadhead minimum rest overnights are more tiring than the red-eye Asia stuff. Then there's the French PF/PM thing on the 321.
The 717 trips now are more work than ANY of the regional flying that I ever did. I wouldn't be surprised if 717 CA goes to less than a year upgrade at some point.
The 330 is a wild card. It's OK now... If the Asia-Pac part of the world ever starts taking it's sanity pills and opens up again, the wide body will be the place to be. Hands down, no comparison. Awesome flying.

agree with this and would add that 321 is probably best for any new hire mainly because the difference between a good line and bad is a couple of days off and going to Oakland instead of somewhere else. When it’s for 9 hours who cares. Also I have commuted for 4-5 years from the west coast. I stay on West coast time when I’m in Hawaii and the wake ups are no issue. If this is your situation it may help.

True. There's a butt for every seat. I just find the 330 more commutable. The trips are less fatiguing so I don't feel as worn out. When the schedule gets back to more normal, I can come in off of a red-eye and that gives me 3-4 more options to get home at a reasonable time.
