If placed into the 717 as NH, are the chances pretty good of being awarded 321 or 330 after seat lock expires. Been flying 50 sectors a month for the last 10+ years and ready for a change.

pretty likely you could move aircraft after your seat lock is up. Current vacancy bid had around 30 FOs on the 717 as everybody either bid off the aircraft or got captain. About 2/3rds of that 30 stayed because they are seat locked.

BTW Interisland is closer to 100 segments a month. Fun times for sure.

Interisland was much better when all pairings started and ended in HNL.
Now most pairings have you doing a layover outer island and 3-7 legs on day 2.
Can be brutal especially because the rest is shorter than two single days.

717 is the new B scale regional for Hawaiian it seems. Pay is sub standard and the credit for the two days are atrocious. Make more as a 330 FO doing the shortest 2 day vs 717 Capt on an avg two day of 8.5 to 9 hrs credit.

correct! I think it was forgotten or not a priority in the 2017 contract. Majority of pilots were on the 330 and saw the big $$ that Hawaiian has never really gotten. Compared to other 717 and 321 operators we are the middle to bottom as far as pay. I think the negotiation committee sees that and realizes we’ve had growth with 321s and 717 becoming not as desirable with overnights so we need to increase pay and qol to catch up with peers

Has anyone had an interview experience in 2022?

I don’t know the current gouge on the interview, but I did get an update on hiring numbers and the reasoning behind it. I had originally posted about potential for a west coast base and 30 new hires per month… As it stands now the next vacancy will account for 3-787’s coming on property next year (as growth). The updated hiring numbers are 24 per month through December with no pool (interview to class within a month or so). The west coast base sounds more like future planing…

I submitted my stuff about a week ago. I already live here and would be so happy to be part of Hawaiian. Commuting the last few years to mainland has been exhausting. If you hear anything please post! Much much appreciated for the update.

Good luck with the process! I’ve been on the 330 for all of my time here and I’ve really enjoyed it. We have a solid group of pilots for the most part with a nice variety of flying.
