If you’re in Hawaii, tell your governor to open up. I want my Hawaii trips back. And I can’t believe the number of people I’ve talked to that want to travel, but can’t due to the lockdown/quarantine. Sad to see business in financial trouble because of government decisions thrust upon them.

The governor is as incompetent as they come. Google the missile false alarm if you haven't heard of it.
Most would agree to proper measures, but keeping people at home is only making things worse in many communities where you have maybe a dozen or more people living in the same house.
Hawaiian Airlines is (was?) the largest employer with over 7,000 people. A thousand are getting laid off while no one in the city or state has been furloughed.

Meh. I've settled into Cabo and PVR turns. I, and others, are pretty PO'ed at the way HI has handled this. I know guys who live there but are based on the mainland and got quarantined after every commute home. I'll remember that Mexico wanted our business, and head down there with fam next time we're looking for sun.
Not only are the States citizens ignorant to the fact they are a 3rd world country without tourists, the leaders think they can pick and choose what tourists come in and out. The longer the State of Hawaii fumbles this the worse a Hawaii vacation will be. Restaurants closed, stores closed. What still remains will be a rundown shell of its former self. Not to mention the beaches are actually nicer in Mexico and places like FL. Most of the born and raised crowd haven't been anywhere other than Vegas, if they've left the rock at all. They truly believe Hawaii is the end all be all, and think that everyone will still want to come out here just because it is soooo special here
The reality is Hawaii is the #1 per capita in homelessness. Our beaches are becoming tent cities. And if the State leaders think they can put all sorts of demands on tourists (testing, monitoring, random police visits) and think they will still come out here they are crazy...

You're not the only one who will take your vacation dollars elsewhere... If it wasn't for my job being tied to Hawaii tourism, I would be a strong advocate for this as well.

I Kaiboshed our trip to Hawaii. We used to live in da islands, so I'm intimately familiar with the ineptitude of the government out there. I have 0 interest in pumping any more of my money into that place. Other than seeing my friends still out there, I have no real reason to go back.
I'll go where my gringo dollars are appreciated. I hope HAL makes it through this; too many of my friends there to ever want to see it go away, but Ige isn't doing you guys any favors.
