Commuting while living on the road?
I am in the process of purchasing a camper that I will live in while finishing my fixed wing training and building a house. I am entertaining the idea of keeping it afterwards to travel the country with the wife and kids during the summer. Its something we always talked about doing at retirement, but with relaxed commuting policies I thought, maybe we wouldn't have to wait 35 years.
I'm envisioning that I could go to the nearest major airport, head in to work for however many days, and fly back to the camp site to enjoy my days off with the family and sight-see etc.
Anyway, has anyone tried doing something like this? Is it feasible?

It's an admirable plan, but the amount of time you'll have to invest in planning your commutes will put a damper on things. I commuted one leg to a regional for 9 years almost exclusively to one base. I knew the flight schedules by heart. You won't have that luxury if you're talking about commuting out of rotating airports. If you do this, I would always be close to an airport that gives you a one leg flight option to work. For every added leg of your commute your stress will increase exponentially.
Good luck and hope you can at least give it a try.
