Commuting and luggage
Hey guys,
I am a newbie here, so forgive my ignorance.
Can anyone share some knowledge concerning the best tips for traveling with luggage. I will be commuting to training and to my domicile in the near future. I will be traveling with a flight bag and a carry-on size bag. I am guessing my carry-on bag will be my flight bag and I will probably have to check my normal carry-on size luggage, right?
Any tips and recommendations on marking baggage, etc?
Thanks.

For training, you can check a larger bag since you might want extra clothes. You'll also be bringing training materials back home, so you'll want room for that.
For your trips, buy a good standard 22 inch bag, and then your flight bag will be your small personal item. Some guys have an extra lunch bag. Or buy that cooler bag that can also double as your flight bag. This will be easiest as you really don't want to check your bags when commuting.

Commuters can normally get away with a rollaboard, a flight case, and a laptop/purse. Most CS and cabin crew look the other way for the third item, despite occasional attempts by management to crack down.

This is a method a lot of people use to save space in their suitcases. https://www.google.com/amp/coed.com/...?client=safari

Depending on how many binders you have to carry, look at the new modular flight cases available from the various crew vendors. You can customize them to carry what you need to carry (jepps, EFB, tablet, laptop, headset, food, etc).

Some bases don't have adequate secure storage, although you can always chain the bag to a shelf I suppose.

In case you're still looking for a chart case, I am selling my very high quality Hunt Manufacturing bag. I used it for about 2 years until my airline went paperless. It is still in very good shape. I spent around $400 for it and will sell it for $100 +shipping. Also, if anyone knows of a good place to list this for sale (other than Craigslist) I'd appreciate any tips!
