I met her before I knew about her past. Seemed very nice, but very unqualified to fly the 172 we flew, much less a Global.

While I won't hold something she did when she was 17 against her (she was actually a victim too considering her age and circumstances) she shouldn't have tried to brand herself as a poster child for aviation. Women have enough challenges in this industry and the last thing they need is a fashion model who got a job flying jets at 250 hours with a questionable past representing them. Imagine if Tim Martins represented male pilots... that would suck.

Who cares if he's a "really good stick"? Plenty of folks at this level are. The attitude displayed in his vids is something that could prevent his ascension to a major. This is because (among other things), his ability to be tolerated for four days or more within the confines of a cramped cockpit is paramount. The thing I've noticed at this level is that the vast, vast majority of folks I fly with are laid back and are pleasure to spend time with over many days. Their flying skills are never a question. Mainlines try really hard to weed out the off-the-wall dudes who may otherwise be good sticks, but who nobody can stand to spend more than 30 seconds with. This guy may qualify as one of THOSE guys.

I don't think he really cares about a long term career in aviation

Watch any of his videos and try to tell me that he has any sense of humor. Hes the type of dude I wouldn't be even the smallest bit surprised if he got busted for child porn

Social media has become the reef upon which many future careers will run aground.

You know people would be just fine, and social media wouldn't be the threat that it is if people didn't have this strange idea that it's ok to post ALL of their inane ramblings, bad politic,s and religion for all the world to see.

Your chances of destroying your career because of Facebook is practically zero if you don't post like a dumb ass.

Well clearly. She's probably just buying her way back into the industry by paying for an ATP since most corporate departments I hear know who she is. She can at least get on at Mesa
