That's the way it is in US. Our airline culture had military roots and that's not changing anytime soon.

Although eventually some regional may decide to allow beards to better attract millennial FOs. Once one of them does it, they'll all have to in order to stay competitive.

Just shave. I kind of enjoy being asked on a daily basis if I just came from prom. Reminds me I'm aging better than y'all. 😏

It is the seal on the O2 mask. Facial hair won't let the mask form a proper seal. Military is the same way with the gas mask.

As mentioned, how do the foreign airlines deal with that? Do they have some kind of super-duper specially made O2 mask to cater to them?
