Wasn't knocking the WIC program. Only the fact that the Dems hate the fact that some have more than others whether by birth or hard work and wish to give it all away. Communism is a great concept...on paper. Go Karl Marx!

I found it humorous that she wants a plane that can go non-stop to CA from Washington and that in her mind the 757 is the only plane that can do it.

And exactly what "more" capabilities does the 757 have over the GV?

Actually there are all kinds of special comm and Command/Control mods. In the bizjets, that capability is usually satisfied by suitcase systems. Those are not as reliable as the hard wired ones. Additionally, the 757 has the range to divert from anywhere to the Omaha command center if the flag goes up and, God forbid, something bad happens to #1 and #2.

FYI, the GV or 550 has well over 2 times the range of a 757 and is a whole lot faster too.

Its the mods...the mods.

Besides, the Speaker is simply entitled to the 757. If the Speaker of the House was a Taliban, he's still be entitled to the 757. End of story.

Whether she's entitled or not isn't the point. The point is that her argument for wanting the larger airplane is to get to CA non-stop.

So what offends you? The fact that a POLITICIAN obfuscated? Or that she (or more likely, her staff) thought that the G-V was below her station?

Because inside the Beltway, you are ranked by the perks you command. And the Speaker of the House commands the 757. And that is the simple fact of the matter.

Range was the excuse, not the reason.

She deserves nothing more than a Cessna 152. God forbid POTUS and VPOTUS are gone, getting her airborne in a 152 would be the best thing for this country.

Agreed, her time is valuable and it's not really fair to penalize her with delays because security necessitates AF vice commercial travel.

But I could have sworn a G-V could do a TRANSCON???

Edit: Not a pelosi fan here, but she's still a key link in the chain.
