Another Career Ruined

I was not suggesting, if he is found guilty, that he deserves "SYMPATHY" from the legal system. There is a huge difference in "sympathy" from the court and "EMPATHY" from our fellow man. My point was that we do not know all the facts or what led to this situation. Regardless of the facts, someone else's circumstances are not mine to judge, unless I'm tasked to sit on a 'jury of his peers.' Other than that, it's really none of my business ... or yours.
Have you ever heard the phrase, "There but for the grace of God go I"?
I never agreed that someone should be allowed to use "lame excuses" to get away with committing a criminal act. But there can be extenuating circumstances, more than just blatant disregard for the law. I never said any of those situations would EXCUSE an actual crime, only help someone to understand how a fellow human being could be led down the wrong path.
John 8:7. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
If it this was none of your business, why did you post a response initially?
This is a forum where we post opinions and thoughts, not a court of law or jury room. You have your biased thoughts and opinions and I have mine. That's the way it works.
Stand down from that pulpit just a bit and enjoy the different opinions.

I beg to differ. Check the record.
I replied initially to the posting. LNL76 quoted me 19 minutes later and replied directly to me. Then you replied 19 minutes later and began, "As LNL76 notes ..." which indicates you agreed with his reply to me. I could have quoted both of you but just chose to use yours since it was the more recent posting.

Fixed it for you.
And yes, as a matter of fact, that is why I replied. Thank you for asking.
Not because that particular pilot or arrest was any of my business (or yours). I don’t know him nor have a “dog in this fight.”
But I believe as a responsible member of society, I should speak up when I think another member of our society is being unfairly singled-out, pre-judged, and convicted by a mock jury that doesn’t have all the facts. That's up to the justice system to decide.
Unfortunately, this judgmental attitude is far too pervasive today for me to be able to redress every instance I see of it today, but I chose to do so in this forum.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but bashing someone based on a single news story without knowing all the facts is irresponsible and inhumane … in MY opinion.
Just sayin’ …

Not fluffing feathers.
Just stating the facts.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
But seriously, you did reply to what I wrote, even if indirectly.
After all, wasn't it you who called this an "exchange of opinions"?

No, you misunderstand. I abhor drama.
As a matter of fact, the reason I first responded is that I abhor the drama that some people insist on creating about OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS or circumstances.
Normally, I just try to ignore it and move along also.
But it reaches a point where I find it difficult to not object, with passionate and conviction.
And that, Sir, is what you mistake for "drama."
