Handgun Recommendations for Flightsuit....

I have one of those too. I even put a trigger kit in it to make it easier for the wife to shoot ( she was shooting low because of the heavy trigger) and I still prefer the 43.
I wish they would make a 44 in 40 cal.

Nice pistols. And above average in "recreational shootability" compared to may other small pistols.
Meaning, small pistol but still feels good in your hand and doesn't become uncomfortable to shoot at the range after prolonged shooting.
AGAIN, relative to other small pistols.

Desantis has a really nice ankle holster for the Shield. Because of the really large pockets on a flight suit, I wouldn't put one in there in a pocket holster. That barrel could end up pointing anywhere. Finally, a Galco shoulder holster would work, either outside the suit (with a jacket) OR, with your frame, it might work in side the flight suit for something small like a Shield or 938. Just make sure you have a good, heavy shirt on because I imagine it could rub a bit.

Radial, you say you are wearing a "flight suit", I assume you mean something like this
CWU-27/P Flight Suit | Gibson & Barnes - Premiere Flyer & Aviation Outfitters
If so, the zippered breast pocket was where I carried. I'm 5'10" and at different times carried an HK 40 and a CZ P01 there. The HK was a snug fit and drew out easily (the cut of the pocket with the angled bottom cradled the muzzle nicely). The CZ was sloppy loose and didn't stay in position (maybe not the case in a suit your size).
I will say, carrying in that pocket was the only time I carried withOUT a chambered round: somehow I was never comfortable having a ready to fire weapon pointed at my femoral artery.

I'm not a big fan of the Shield since I had one of mine crack; the frame cracked with less than 200 factory rounds through the pistol. S&W refused to warranty it. They sent me a nice letter stating that they couldn't explain why the crack occurred, but insist it's not workmanship. They offered to sell me a new one.
For a thin, compact firearm, the G43 is one of the best options on the market right now.
