I guess we should start with the ticket agents

FFDO's and now the Cops are lacking? I guess we all better hit the weight room or pack our own H&K.

For the most part, if there's a disturbance in the cabin, we fly the plane, let the F/A's get some 'able-bodies' to assist. If pass riding or deadheading feel free to help out.

Yes, a high % of the passengers would be of no help, but others live for that sort of stuff.

FFDO's and not "now" cops. Unless a cop is willing to train in defensive tactics outside of his or her departmental training requirements. Same goes for shooting skills. A large percentage have always lacked in DT and shooting skills. Nothing has changed.

And the "weight room" is not where you learn this stuff, just FYI.

We had Hulk Hogan a while back. Yeah he could handle anyone. I said though, if he gets out of control it may take a bit extra, beyond normal 'defensive tactics'.

In all honesty I actually would have their training include a bit of training on how to deal with disturbed people. I've seen the few great gate agents but I've also seen some that just fan the flames of annoyed people.

Let's not revisit the "last line of defense" FFDO debate here, there is a nice thread anybody can resurrect:

Simple solution. Always travel with your Stone Cold Steve Austin.

That would be incorrect.

Firstly, to command respect, you approach the situation wearing your hat. Double blind studies have consistently shown that in the same situation with the same people, the hat wearer has the tactical advantage. Also, sunglasses that hides your eyes helps. (I recommend Rayban Aviators). No hat? You're SOL. Unless....

Secondly, I have mastered the first 9 editions of Street Fighter and am close to mastering the 10th. I suggest that anyone interested in self-defense follow in my footsteps.
