Default For a bunch of guys with a college degree, you all can't spell worth ****!

Ever notice on this forum how bad people are at speling. (intentional)
I wonder if it is typos or if you guys didn't read your spelling books. If typos then fair enough. The latter, study a book for god sake!! Fire away!!! It's got to be more interesting than another age 60 debate. My god that's getting old.

I was in engineering too. None of us can spell or use proper grammer on a regular basis. Deal with it.

I just skip to the next message when I find a spelling or grammar error. It really increases my free time. It's funny: Back when I was dialing into BBS's with my 2400 baud, everyone seemed to spell just fine. (The users had vastly superior debate skills, too.) Here's the deal: If you can't spell, download the Google toolbar. It will spell check web forms with one click. If that's too much work or you hate toolbars, switch to Firefox, which checks web forms as you type.

2400 baud...Man, you're old. The slowest dial-up speed I remember is 56kbps.

I studied engineering too, but it still bugs me when people use loose for lose . The little red line underneath gammer in your post edit screen means it's spelled grammar.

edit - oh the red line is only in Firefox!

I'm 30 and remember 2400 baud

did a 1400 even exist?? do you mean 14,400? I think it went from 300 - 1200 - 2400. You would have been 8 when the 14,400 came out in '91

You're confusing baud with bps (bits per second)

14,400 bps (bits per second) @ 2400 baud.

I didn't get my first computer until 1997. Pentiums were too expensive so I picked up a DX4-100MHz machine in Germany. I could only afford it because of the exchange rate.
