Awesome find! The father of my backseater in the Gulf War was a B-58 Nav; he had more than 1000 hours of supersonic time.
This link showed adjacent while I watched Jimmy Stewart. Something very interesting, around the 48 minute mark, mentioned in passing.
These former UK Ministers said Australia needed IMF loan backing (?!?!) for F-111s. They wanted us to give it.
In turn, we told the Brits we needed the Pound to back up the dollar, and we would only do it if Britain's TSR2 was cancelled and scrapped.
The TSR2 was interesting, although I think impractical as a combat aircraft.
But that financial statement explains how a cold-plated cow-patty like the F-35 could be pursued so politically when all evidence says it stinks.

i've long ascribed to Ike's MIC.
But I saw it as all internal to each country. I hadn't figured the international IMF collaboration.
The only international I saw was contractors bribing foreign officials.

Ice: try double that.
The B-58 had four J-79s; the F-4 had two.
Total FF in burner on takeoff for the F-4E or G was 98,500 lbs/hr. This is for late model J-79-17 low-smoke engines.
The "Major Deutchendorf" mentioned in the film was John Denver's dad.

Must have beat you to the Denver reference by a couple of seconds! Another Fun Fact out of the 58 program, This is when high temp paint was perfected. Some of the numbers Etc. kept coming off during flights, so around a million bucks was supposedly spent experimenting with the paint. Think about that next time you're in the auto parts store buying header paint for your hot rod project!
