Air Ambulance Insurance
While reviewing my annual insurance policies I found that one of my carriers dropped their AA coverage significantly, (more likely than not related to the recent change in this National Insurance
The only policy that I've found is LIfeShield Alliance - The FREEDOM of air ambulance transport which has a maximum pay out of $10,000.
10k is a drop in the bucket when your talking about an AA EVAC patient costs.
Does anyone have a recommendation for Air Ambulance Insurance and or Coverage for both Domestic and OCONUS?
Thanks

My cousin had to have an Air Evac flight about 3 years ago... only about 20 miles from one hospital to another, and I remember her mentioning it was about $50,000 (of about $500,000 in bills she racked up in about a week). I assumed it was covered, or partially covered by insurance. She probably wouldn't be alive without the flight, so it's kind of hard to put a price on that... but the idea of having a freak accident happen and going bankrupt because of it is scary....

Not anymore.
And you're correct about not thinking about it and taking thing for granted until the SHTF. I lost a friend while OCONUS partially due to this type of Service or lack there of.
This is the first time in 25 years that I now has a Co-Pay, plus Co-Insurance and a few exclusionary clauses that make payment a possible subjective issue for Air Medivac.
My insurance policies always covered both Ground and Emergency Domestic Air Medivac at 100%, (an OCONUS non-work related rider was about $250.00/yr that included my family).
Now these policies have new clauses that could route a patient and medical team via a Commercial Flight vs the old coverage would provide your own A/C if an ALS medical team was necessary.

Btw, The last numbers I saw for a Local 30 minute Air EVAC from NativeAir is approximately $20,000 using an AS-350 w/Flt Nurse.
