When there is an adjoining room door that has an inch of play in it so that when the neighbors open and close there bathroom/room door your side of the door sounds like a maraca. (not sure the spelling on the musical instrument)
and the rooms that apparently used to have the 3" shag carpet so there is a 2 inch gap under the door to the hallway. (and bathroom after mexican)

Thick pillows. Holiday Inns are the worst, but we tend not to stay there anymore. I tried to explain to a manager once that you've got people who want thick pillows and people who want thin pillows and that you can make a thick pillow out of thin pillows but you can't make a thin pillow out of a thick pillow. Just a whining pilot. It would help if managers actually stayed in their own hotel occasionally.
Fix is to take the comforter from the other bed (or ask for another one) and stuff part of it into a pillow case. Messes up two beds but oh well.

That soft water crap that comes out of the shower. I turn on the shower, hop in and lather up to wash off the stink of 25-year old packs but the water only washes off all the visible soap and leaves a tiny layer behind. I leave the shower feeling like I'm covered in soap
EDIT: Pro-tip, if the blinds won't close all the way and light is getting in when you're trying to sleep, take out one of the coat hangers with clips on the end for hanging up pants. Clip the blinds together. Don't forget to turn on a light so you aren't stumbling in the darkness back to your bed. You're welcome

- what is THAT in the coffee maker?
- all decaf coffee packs
- AC/heat unit you can't turn off...it's always blowing hot or cold, depending on what temp you set
- hotel shuttle van they obviously spent all the $$ on the paint job and graphics/wrap; the inside is nasty and you don't want to touch anything
