Default Jaialdi - Ongi etorri!

Jaialdi ? Ongi etorri!

The vagabond family is planning to head out to Boise at the end of July to this great festival and to visit our Basque family branch. I've never been to Jaialdi before, but was told it's extraordinary.

We have tickets to Sports Night. Here is the description from the website: Weight lifters from the Basque Country will test their strength by lifting cylinders weighing 250-400 pounds and stone balls weighing 350 pounds. Woodchoppers will test their skills against each other, and traditional farm sports competitors will throw hay bales, lift wagons, and see who can carry milk cans the farthest.

Only $15! Might try my hand at those hay bales.

Hope you can join us.

When leaving the event, make sure the arena has plenty of doors...
Could be a jam if they get all their Basques in one exit.

The world needs more bale tossing champs. In my farm days as a kid, you were not a real farm hand unless you could throw one about 15 yards, and spit that far too.

Not sure what that means...but I played Jai-Alai as a sport for years as a youngster.

Update: we are leaving tomorrow morning sharpish. Should take about 10 hours if I drive like a little old lady, stop for brunch, dog potty breaks, etc etc. Still time to join us!
