On This Day

I remember everything about that morning, that day!! Nobody will ever forget.
In memory of SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
A day to remember that extraordinary heroes are ofter disguised as ordinary people and that spirit and soul are unbreakable.

i was in 6th grade in the cafeteria. I remember watching the T.V. not really understanding what happened until my history teacher in the next class explained it to me. I was in upstate NY and I guess a lot of students must have had family in NYC because a good 3/4 of the school cleared out that day.
That day I decided I was going to join the military after I graduated college.

I'm glad the victims of 9/11 are memorialized and that we can reflect on surge of cooperation and patriotism that occurred in months following the attacks.
Never Forget, Never Forgive - that message is being lost to "remember the victims". Again, it's appropriate to memorialize those lost, but did we learn anything as a nation?
The attacks of 9/11 happened because we collectively let our guard down, and got our asses handed to us as a result. What better way to remember those lost than to never forget that we're still fighting an enemy who lives in the shadows. The fight is far from over, and those who would do harm to our country are alive and well. In addition to the 3000+ lost on 9/11, let's not (ever) forget the 6800+ Americans lost in Iraq and Afghanistan as result of the attacks on our soil.
Reflecting in memorial is a national pastime and appropriately so. However, the fights still on.

Geez whatever you guys do don't read the comments sections on facebook/webpages alike related to 9/11. I didn't think the anti-us sentiment would be as prominent as it was. The U.S. should really change the last lines of our anthem to "Damned if we do, damned if we don't".
