Default What you saw was the planet Venus

Jose Chung's "From Outer Space" was my favorite X-Files episode. It has UFO abduction (of test pilots no less), comedy, and a tag team of Alex Trebec and Jesse Ventura as men in black.

Lol these people. It was an rc quadcopter (or hexa or octa). RGB color changing LED light kits that run on the same 12v battery as the RC copter are available online for $30 and they are extremely bright.

30-45 is a long time. Probably not without a quick landing to swap batteries.

20-25 minutes is more common flight time. But I have seen guys who have made them fly over an hour, but I don't think that's the norm. Batteries just get too heavy and end up shortening flight time when they get too big and heavy.

One other comment btw. People report they stay perfectly still and don't move in the sky. These things have GPS. They lock to their position and automatically compensate for the wind. Pretty cool little toys actually. Most fly at low altitudes below 400 feet. They can go higher but not too much higher or at least not for a long duration due to the battery life.

Not really. The altitude limits of the Quadcopters and alike are; the winds aloft, telemetry linking and battery life.

Guys are now using 2-5Ghz transmitters with multiple directional antennas, more efficient motors and batteries.

In the stock out-of-the-box configuration 1,000AGL is very possible for an DJi Quadcopter.

Here are some boneheaded videos of Quadcopters operating into possible controlled airspace. This is more common OCONUS, (IMHO lack of enforcement).
