Do you now call for your own neutralization?
Long term all of us need to be treated equally, not embroiled in a contest of race, religion, class warfare or any other distraction.

Agreed with the latter.

Violence and Subjugation
It is part of the glue that holds all States together, in fact all States demand a monopoly on violence and subjugation.
We happen to be very good at it, we are capable of extremely violent responses to people who threaten that monopoly.
This is vital to survival of the state and the individual.
None of us like it when that monopoly is threatened.
Like it or not, war, violence and terror are part of what we are-possibly one of the biggest parts.
It pays to be good at it.
One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter, at times it is easy to sort the bad guy out, other times it may not be so clear cut.
Best to avoid it all if you can, but if you can't it is best to go all in.

For some reason, when I woke this morning, this song popped into my head:
Country Joe Mcdonald at Woodstock - YouTube
Must be from all the TV coverage of the Iraq debate (1, 2, 3 what are we fighting for? And the go back in/stay out debate ).
But just change "Viet Nam" to "Iraq", and you'll see not much has changed (other than the hair styles!) since 1969.
You youngsters look closely, you may see your parents in the crowd!

You may think the good ole USA is the 1% of the world but I bet that there are several million folks who live in this country that would disagree with that thought. It seems you and I have a different viewpoint as to who the 1% actually are in this world.

Or could it be(gasp!) both groups?
In all of the confusion my scorecard got lost.
