End of an Era as Flower Aviation Closes Its Last FBO | Aviation International News

Man I have some awesome memories at the Flower FBO's. Yes, I am a gal, and no, I don not bat for the other team (nor am I homophobic), but even I appreciated the "Flower Girls." They always had a great attitudes....as well as some other great assets. The steaks you got for refueling. The cookies. Those crazy Cockatoos in Pueblo. I really hope that GA isn't on it's way out, but it sure appears so.

Some of my earliest memories of aviation during my PPL X/Cs include Flower Aviation at KFSM. Sad to see.

We used to use Flower in Salina, KS almost exclusively on C-9 transcons back in the late '80s. Free wine and steaks!

We carried a roll of Reynolds Wrap, a can of corn, a can of peas and a can of Irish potatoes. Stop for gas. Get the steaks. Pop them in the convection oven and PRESTO! Steak dinner.

Unfortunately, the military made them stop giving us the bottles of wine, but the steak deal went on for years. Flower in PUB was a good deal as well.

Line girls in Minis flagging you in. Free car if you needed to spend the night.

Great operation. Love me some Flower!

Hauling oil field junk to western WY from IAH in -3s in the early 80s I don't know how many times we stopped at PUB. Somewhere I still have a tee shirt.
