if you're going to San Fransisco...
you're gonna meet some gentle people there...

remember that song? I remember it from Forest Gump. Never been to San Fransisco, but would love to go.

It is a little long and it does have some big words. What part do you need explained?
Haha. That is hillarious!

The article was way too long, but I do agree with the closing parts about "banning the military is a 2 way street."

The fact is Skygirl is right. There is no shortage of people wanting to live here. I have lived near SF my entire life (except for college), and I wouldn't leave here without a very serious reason.
Politics suck here sometimes. But then again, some great politics come from here. A couple GREAT ones:

-Restaurant smoking bans
-Public area outdoor smoking bans
-Stem Cell funding
-30% of our power comes from renewable energy
-Massive taxes on cigarettes

A lot of this change came from SF. So yes, we do have to put up with some crazy politics sometimes. But a lot of great changes come from here too.

San Francisco, one of the ten great world cities of our time. What I mean by this is that SF would come to mind if you were to put together ten of the most important cities in the world. I'm going out on a limb here and will try to name the rest. Hmmmm...No particular order here.

London
New York
Moscow
Los Angeles
Hong Kong
Tokyo
Paris
Berlin
Rome
Bombay
Rio de Janeiro
Buenos Aires
Cairo
Jerusalem
Singapore
Sydney
Washington DC

Damn, this list is more than ten cities. Perhaps I should put SF in the list of top twenty cities.

Don't forget all of the brain power around here - the city with the most educated population in the US. Thank goodness for all of those wackos in Silicon Valley, for if it were not for them, wackos of a different bent wouldn't have this internet to spout off on.

Cool

I just LOVE SFO! I mean, it's my hometown and I would give alot to be able to move back there as soon as possible! Everybody who hasn't been there has missed something! I mean, just the pictures that I can remember: ´we moved to Bodega Bay (I know that is a bit of a drive from San Francisco) a few years after my birth (from SFO) and I can remember driving over the Golden Gate Bridge in our Mustang convertible. My, those were great times!

Cheers everyone!

Jakob, Bodega Bay is just north of me. (I live in Marin) I take the drive up the coast fairly often for the great seafood and BBQ'd oysters. What a great little town! And there is the cute little hamlet of Bodega (different from Bodega Bay) where they filmed the "Birds". The schoolhouse and church from the movie are still there. It's still awesome up there on the Sonoma/Mendocino Coast - one of my favorite little drive/day trips. Where are you living now?

Cheers!
