Woman dies in gym bathroom due to gym rules..
Emily Hamlin collapsed in a bathroom stall of the women’s locker room of a health club.
Another woman, Stephanie Dick, heard her fall and quickly ran to the front desk to tell employees.
But there wasn’t a female employee there and the man on duty, Sean Higgins refused to go into the ladies locker room.
In a sworn affidavit Dick told the court “he said he didn’t know what to do and that he wasn’t allowed to go into the ladies’ bathroom.”
“He said he was the only one working there and that a girl was expected to come in, but he didn’t know when she would be there.”
That decision proved critical as Hamlin died minutes later.
No cause of death has been announced.
Hamlin’s family has filed a lawsuit against the Planet Fitness in Long Island, New York
“I want to know why no one helped her!” Hamlin’s mother told the New York Post.
“He could have simply called 911! It’s baffling to me.”
Video footage shows two women trying to get Higgins to act and he’s seen calmly looking at a computer during the incident.
Higgins called 911 nearly five minutes after Hamlin collapsed and a female employee with CPR training found the girl with a weak pulse.
Emergency workers arrived a few minutes later and Hamlin was declared dead shortly afterwards.

You probably should fix your title.
She didn't die because of the gym rules. Actually, according to the article, her cause of death isn't being disclosed. That's probably because it doesn't enhance the news story for the family lawsuit. They don't know why she died a year after it happened? - not likely. If she was going to die no matter what anyone did, it'll be harder to win the case. 22 year olds don't usually drop dead so it's likely she had something pretty serious going on. Aneurism on the toilet? Not the first. Bottom line is, I'll bet that the reality is that nothing was going to save her.
The guy working at the gym was a tool. I'm not sure your average gym worker would be my first choice to render aid even it he did go into the bathroom. Someone should have called 911, for sure. Did the woman who found her have a cell phone? Could she not have jumped the desk and used the phone when the gym employee brain-locked?
This story smells of lawyer to me. A year after the event, it's suddenly newsworthy? Must be getting close to opening remarks or jury selection.
