Default Prove My Theory Right

I have a theory, based on flying and talking with so many pilots.

How many of you knew, from a very early age (3-7 years old) that you were going to be a pilot??

I am convinced there are two professions like this: pilots and firefighters.

So, at what age did you know FOR SURE, you were going to fly airplanes?

Oh my.....my two favorite "flavors." You'll appreciate this, I have THE hottest fireman next door to me. AND, he's the nicest guy ever. (too bad he's so much younger than me AND has a kid and a very pregnant wife.)

My first flight was probably 5, TWA To London. I got a tour of the cockpit on the way there. I loved it but I didn't think about career. Then I saw 2001 A Space Odyssey. That's when I knew I wanted to be a Pan Am space shuttle pilot.

For me, it was as long as I can remember, so before 3 years of age.

Valid... I remember seeing Top Gun for the first time when I was in elementary school. I recently saw that movie again when it came back to theaters a few months ago. It's a lot cooler movie when you're eight.

The awesome thing about aviation is that it's one of the few things in life that's been way better than I expected.

Interesting theory, but I agree with it. I remember hopping in a Piper Aztec at the age of 4 and telling my dad that I was going to be a pilot...he'll tell you the same thing.

Default General Aviation

Was interested in aviation/space from an early age (3rd grade) - probably since I grew up around Marine Corps aviation.

Didn't start PPL training until my wife gave me an intro ride for xmas at age 28. I just needed the push, so it's her fault

Ditto. My first ride on a plane was when I was 6 days old.
