Seeking donations for Veteran's rehab program
Those of you that have seen my posts know I'm an AF veteran. What you may not know is that my wife is a disabled vet with a TBI. In spite of that, she'll be participating in a 5-day, 350-mile bicycle ride to raise money for Ride 2 Recovery, a program that focuses on rehabilitation for injured vets through cycling.
If you're interested in helping, then please visit Sponsor a Rider - Ride 2 Recovery and make a donation on behalf of "SUE DAVIS." There's no minimum, and every bit goes toward helping vets.
Thanks in advance.
Some info on the program, copied from their website:
What is Ride 2 Recovery (R2R)?
Ride 2 Recovery stages long-distance, multi-day cycling events to benefit mental and physical rehabilitation programs for injured veterans that feature cycling as the core activity.
Cycling is an activity that is conducive to people with both mental and physical disabilities and Ride 2 Recovery helps to speed the recovery and rehabilitation process. While riding in a group of 150-200 cyclists, men and women experience a sense of normalcy, accomplishment, pride, camaraderie and relief from depression and other problems that accompany recovery and rehabilitation.
What is the mission of R2R?
To improve the health and wellness of injured veterans by providing a life changing experience that can impact their lives forever. R2R Challenges are multi-day events that cover 350-450 miles. A Challenge pushes participants to their limit, both physically and mentally. Paid participation in a full Challenge ride helps support the free participation of our injured veterans and includes bike and equipment, cycling clothes, daily transportation, meals and lodging.
What do the R2R Funds Support?
The funds raised by R2R support indoor and outdoor cycling programs at Military and VA locations around the U.S. to help injured veterans overcome obstacles they face as part of their rehabilitation. Funds also support the equipment needed for the wounded service men and women participating in the events, including bikes that may require modifications due to injuries.
The Rides (Challenges) - The core of R2R is the seven Challenges that take place around the country to bring active duty military and injured veterans together with the general public for a multi-day riding experience to assist in their rehabilitation, gain exposure for the organization, and raise funds for R2R.
