First of all this dude needs to be taken very seriously. If nothing else, remember the story of the little boy who cried wolf. I cringe when some government, including ours, says that so and so country doesn't have the technology to accomplish something. Designing and constructing even an ICBM ain't all that difficult, especially nowadays. There are thousands of persons on this planet capable of completing that task. For many seasoned aeronautical engineering types, all that would be needed is access to a capable machine shop and some money. A capable long range missle could be easily built right here in the USA, or in many other countries, by some rouge wacko; though chances are extremely high they would be detected before reaching any critical stage. Even with our best Intel; a country that is deemed not capable at a particular point in time could actually just be an infintesimal degree away from having the capacity to unleash the worst that mankind has to offer. Maybe Dennis Rodman could actually talk some sense into this guy, it seems they might operate on the similar wave lenghts anyway...

Agreed, but with so many innocent people at stake I think we all just want this to settle down. I'm sure it'll pick back up in the future unfortunately.

While the Norks have not exactly shown a high degree of skill in rocketry yet, that isn't really the issue. As others have mentioned, that rocket that can reach some far flung target is useless when they don't have the ability to build a nuclear device suitable for use in said rocket. I'd be more concerned with seeing that they don't develop that capability.

Having worked with many intel groups from various agencies (the full spectrum) in the Federal Government over the past 11 years, I cast a wary eye on any claims their personnel make regarding what can and cannot happen. I find too many intel folks to be very pompous, arrogant and at the same time very unskilled with little related life experience to lean on. I have witnessed many intel errors made and it boggles my mind how they were made. There is a pattern of this across the board in so many agencies. My experiences have warped me forever regarding comments from intel staff stating that they know something for sure or of any claims they make. Yes. I am jaded. My daily interactions with intel staff over the years have changed me forever.

So, just be very cautious of any exact claims coming from intel folks (especially agency heads that make statements based on their staff). Try to never take it for granted that they are always accurate. That’s all I’m saying.

The real problem is that many of these so-called world leaders are taken seriously. Many of them are quite clearly insane.

My suggestion is that we stop taking them seriously and move them all to a nice padded cell. All of them.
