All this little girl did was crawl outside through the doggie door, and WHAM!

Pit Bulls are dangerous dogs and should only be owned by people who understand and respect that fact.

This breed was SPECIFICALLY CREATED FOR IT'S AGGRESSION AND FIGHTING characteristics. Specifically for them. Nothing else. Read up on the history of this breed. It was specifically bred for fighting. Period.
This.

When was the last time you heard of anyone being mauled to death by a Lab or a Beagle or German Shepherd?

Exactly.

Hogwash. Obviously the media covers every incident/accident that occurs.

Airplanes have crashed before resulting in human deaths. Obviously airplanes and pilots are DEADLY, & both should be eliminated.

Actually, Pitbulls aren't naturally aggressive dogs, albeit they are still dangerous. It depends on the way they are bred and raised. There is a reason Pitbulls aren't used as watch/guard dogs.

Unfortunately, some people just enjoy telling people they have a pitbull, just as some people enjoy telling people they have a gun, while other people love telling people how bad they beat up that guy who was talking smack. Sometimes people disregard the level of responsibility that goes along with dangerous objects. (i.e. leaving a loaded gun/sharp knife around, leaving prescription drugs within a child's reach... )

Bottom line is that this is a horrible, horrible accident and as someone mentioned this poor family lost a child and their dogs in the whole accident. I'll withdraw my judgment of the family, but suffice to say someone should have been watching the child. Prayers for the family.

Yes, let's follow in the footsteps of socialist and very liberal countries and ban the breed because it is scary and dangerous. Do you also support the AR ban and proposed gun control?

Go a head and shoot my dogs, but don't be surprised when I shoot back at you.

While I'm not a hater of the breed, my wife did get cornered by a pit about two miles from the house while on her daily run. Luckily someone drove by at the right time and told her to get in the car. Had I been home that day, I probably would have done something that would have got me in big trouble had there been witnesses.

For the life of me, I can't get her to run with her G26. The best she will do is run with a retractable ASP.

Shocking Stories About Labradors Mauling Children

It took me three seconds to find many stories of Labs killing children. It would take me three more to find the same with Beagles and German Shepards.

Next time don't be so ignorant and blindly believe what other people tell you and do some research before you say something stupid.

More people die from drowning and falling than they do from guns, but you don't hear all of those stories in the news because it would be boring. It's much easier to entertain the ignorant masses with a story of someone being shot or bitten/ killed by a dog.

Grrrrrrrrrr!

Really??

So like my gun, you have your pits for self-defense and protection?

And further, the life of your dog is equal to the life of a human being in your eyes??

Thanks for letting everyone know who is being outlandish and reactionary. Both you and 29 (who also mentioned killing people <children in his case> before editing it out of his post).

Here is a story about 7 pits ripping a 2 year old to shreds, and you guys are all "hey now, don't rush to reaction on this thing!"

Then proceed to tell folks...

Go a head and shoot my dogs, but don't be surprised when I shoot back at you.
LOL
