Couple Carged Under Patriot Act...For Kissing?

GotheriK- All kidding aside, first things first- when the flight or cabin crew asks or tells you to do something, you best ought to do it. That's been the law long before the Patriot Act was implemented.
I have a question for you- since when did it become OK to "get randy" on a plane? I'm fairly tolerant and I've seen alot- watching a flight attendant get someone to extinguish a marijuana joint 35,000 feet over Tennessee was a highlight of my "career" as a passenger.
The decline of common courtesy and the growing feeling of "it's all about me" are leading to a decline in the quality of life overall. Just Friday I went shopping at 5AM with the wife. I saved $150, but the pushing the shoving, the plain avarice...it wasn't enjoyable or rewarding.
I don't know about the specifics of this case- but I will guess. They were asked to stop (possibly at a fellow passngers behest), basically ignored or gave a "$%^& you" to flight attendant, and the rest is history. I suspect the FA figured, "don't make your problem my problem"- and I wouldn't blame 'em. Finally, since there we're at least 5 crewmembers on board, I'm reasonably certain the actions weren't made in a vacuum.
But if you think the "it's all about me" is bad now, wait until today's urchins grow up. We're all gonna want to live alone deep in the woods and source our daily needs via the internet and have them delivered. Perhaps, FedEx and UPS will be doing even better.

I agree with you. A passenger should always follow the instruction of a FA, I know I do. And this country has descended into almost sue-happy, "I want what I want now" mentality, and on that accord I agree with you.
I don't really care about this couple. I couldn't care less about to incosiderate jerks who gave the perverbial (or even literal) "F.U.!" to a FA. It's the Patriot Act that scares me. The incessant paranoia of terrorism, and the rediculous job this administration is doing.
I seem to find that highly unlikely. You know there has been a serious shift in priorities when you have a better chance of being arrested for dissent from the government, than getting killed in a terrorist attack.
You also know what there's been a serious shift in "American Values" when your government abolishes Habeas corpus, and endorses and enforces the very same sort of torture (water boarding) that we prosecuted the Germans for in Nuremberg.

True. If she is hot then the guy was powerless to control himself. No one can be expected to pass up an opportunity to get it on with a hottie on an airplane. Patriot act or not. A man's got to be a man. He is not going to let some flight attendant get in the way. Come on!
