No. The president does not control the purse strings.

The House of Representatives can vote at any time to end the sequester but they don't. Do you know why?

Because the President doesn't think 800 billion in tax increases this year was enough?

They gave him the option to pick and choose what and who was going to be cut so the effects wouldn't be so "drastic" but he declined. Do you know why?

The current administration is saying, in effect: "Your Federal Government is incapable of ensuring your security or welfare in a fiscally responsible manner."

Facts that shape the nation:

$460 million--The amount of money the government takes in daily.
$800 million-The amount of money the government spends, after sequestration, daily.

Oh joy

Not even close to enough. Close the loopholes. I was able to get about half the money I paid in taxes back this year. Ridiculous.

I keep hearing about these loopholes and do you have a list as to what they are ?
I also have a couple of questions about this .
Are these "loopholes" legal ?
Who authorized these "loopholes " and why do the same people who complain about them also use them ?
One can always send the IRS a contribution in order to help pay down the debt can they not ?
Loophole is just another word for deductions yes ?

No you didn't, the money withheld from your check is not payment of your taxes. You pay your taxes when you file. Any deductions you have before you file are not counted as getting money back. If they are withholding twice the amount of money from your check than they have to I would fill out a new W4.

James do you consider the EITC a loophole? If not how is it different then say deducting New York State Income Tax payments?

I'll vote to close other loopholes when you vote to close that one.

Ridiculous, eh?

Why don't you just send your refund back to the IRS then????

What is "ridiculous" is someone griping about getting "about half the money paid in taxes back this year", much less keeping the $$ while complaining about it getting it back!

Derp derrrrrrrp derpty derp!

LMAO!!!!!!!

Umm...shirley you aren't serious? I'm not sure what your post is saying. You seem to know full well what the loopholes are. Are you complaining? Are you agreeing? Are you asking for all the deductions, credits, etc? Not sure...
